Job summary

DMG MORI Additive Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems for state‑of‑the‑art LPBF additive machines. You will create precise components, manage thermal aspects, and ensure machine accuracy while collaborating with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.

The role requires a solid foundation in engineering principles, experience with powder handling and motion control, and a focus on safety and reliability in a fast‑paced

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 2+ years in mechanical design for complex machinery or precision equipment.
  • Proficiency in CAD and PLM software (CREO and Windchill preferred).
  • Knowledge of powder handling, laser/optical and motion control systems.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing or powder-based systems desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for LPBF additive machines, including frames, motion systems, powder handling, and optical/measuring systems.
  • Create CAD models and engineering drawings for manufacturing.
  • Perform analyses to ensure reliability under operational conditions.
  • Collaborate with optics, electronics and software teams to integrate designs.
  • Develop prototypes and validate through testing and iterative design.
