Job summary

The Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) seeks an Addictions Counselor Assistant to join the ATC treatment team on an as-needed basis. You will work under supervision to support clients through individual and group activities, treatment planning, and coordination of care.

Responsibilities include assisting with counseling, crisis intervention, documentation, referrals for aftercare, and ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment while supporting additional peers and logistics as

Qualifications

• Two years of experience with communication skills in a treatment setting.
• One year in a direct addictions treatment capacity or related credential.
• Eligibility for NY Medicaid/Medicare participation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with individual and group counseling and crisis intervention.
• Aid in developing and modifying treatment plans from client input.
• Coordinate care with referral sources for admission, discharge, and aftercare.
• Complete required documentation and maintain confidentiality.
• Support client activities, transportation, and safety within the ATC.
