Addictions Therapist

What Is Expected In This ROLE

  • Provide drug and alcohol treatment, case management services to individuals presenting with an addiction and/or co-occurring disorder.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychotherapy.
  • Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies for managing mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress through data collection and outcome measures.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support, as needed.
  • Stay up to date on current research and best practices in the field of behavioral health.

What Is Expected Of YOU

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Addictions Counseling, Psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 years of paid-related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid license or certification as a therapist (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW)
  • Must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and overall computer skills and be able to use Electronic Medical Records.
  • Knowledge of Manage Care.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health disorders, trauma, or substance abuse.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation and assessment tools (e.g., DSM-5, ICD-10)
  • Proficiency in conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
