Job summary

The Office of Addiction Services and Supports seeks an Addictions Program Specialist 2 to lead a set of counties and programs, coordinating oversight with Local Governmental Units and OASAS to ensure effective and efficient services.

The role involves meetings, site visits, site reviews, and reviewing budgets; you will present assessments during the annual Budget process and help develop capital projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of professional clinical or professional administrative experience in a public or private agency or program that directly provides diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, prevention, or aftercare to a clientele with a primary diagnosis of substance use disorders.
• Master's degree and two years of professional clinical or professional administrative experience in a public or private agency or program that directly provides diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, prevention, or aftercare to a clientele with a primary diagnosis of substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Lead responsibility for a basic set of assigned counties and programs and coordinate oversight with Local Governmental Units and OASAS.
• Conduct meetings, site visits and Comprehensive Site Reviews according to agency requirements.
• Review, negotiate and approve Prevention Workplans.
• Review, negotiate and approve program budget submissions, budget change requests and spending plan modifications.
• Prepare and present a comprehensive assessment and recommendation at the annual Program Review/Budget process.
• Assist in the development of Capital projects by reviewing scope and ensuring fundable requirements.
• Represent OASAS on committees and workgroups as assigned.
• Review certification applications submitted by service providers.
• Identify and bring forward significant issues of concern.

Education

Bachelor's degree + 3 years experience in public or private agency

Master's degree + 2 years experience in public or private agency
