Since 1983, our behavioral health therapists in Jacksonville, NC, have equipped patients with the skills they need to live happier, healthier, and more productive lives. We offer evidence-based treatment programs that address a number of issues, including grief, trauma, psychiatric disorders, and substance abuse problems.
Addiction Clinicians are responsible for developing and carrying out treatment and direct patient care (in compliance with Joint Commission standards) for adults and/or adolescent patients for the recovery of chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions. The work involves interviewing chemically dependent patients, completing assessments and social histories, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, conducting orientation for new admissions, and developing and implementing individual treatment plans.
Education: Minimum of Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related behavioral health field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, counseling in alcohol or drug abuse treatment, prevention or education programs (e.g., 12‑step programs) and substance abuse programs.
License / Certification: LCAS licensure; compliance with state board requirements for supervised practice while pursuing independent licensure; and a valid driver’s license.
Physical requirements: Medium Work – Exerting 20–50 pounds of force occasionally or 10–25 pounds of force frequently, walking or standing to a significant degree. Grasping; speaking; hearing; computer use; visual acuity; sitting; standing; walking; pushing; pulling; stooping; reaching; twisting; crouching; agility to perform physical restraints/holds; agility to administer CPR.
