Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks an Addiction Recovery Specialist to join the Recovery and Wellness team in Mansfield, TX. You will engage patients with therapeutic communication while collaborating with nursing and wellness staff to deliver multidisciplinary treatment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, with CNA or related health degree preferred; at least one year in substance abuse treatment, and certifications in BCLS, CPI, and First Aid within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA certification or associate degree in health field preferred.
• One year of experience in substance abuse treatment preferred; CNA acceptable with related education.

Here’s What You Need

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in substance abuse treatment or as a Patient Care Technician required; or a high school diploma or equivalent with CNA certification; or an associate degree in mental health or a related healthcare field required.
• One year of experience in substance abuse and/or addiction services is preferred
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA First Aid Certification required within 90 days of hire and must be maintained.

What You Will Do

• Therapeutic communication is key when interacting with patients, collaborating with the Wellness and Recovery care team, and working effectively with nursing staff, all while exemplifying active listening and non-verbal communication elements.
