This position offers a unique balance of clinical, teaching, and program development, as well as the opportunity to be a part of multi-disciplinary, hospital-based treatment teams.

Description

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center (MSBHC) invite applications for an Addiction Psychologist position in the Integrative Outpatient Services (IOS). This position offers a unique balance of clinical, teaching, and program development, as well as the opportunity to be a part of multi-disciplinary, hospital-based treatment teams.

Responsibilities

Within IOS, the psychologist provides outpatient individual and group psychotherapy, primarily for individuals presenting with substance use disorders.

The psychologist has a key role in the MSBHC training programs, including the APA-accredited psychology pre-doctoral internship and the psychiatry residency programs. The psychologist provides clinical supervision to psychology interns, externs, post-doctoral fellows, particularly in the addictions domain, and to other clinical staff (e.g., substance use counselors, social workers). They will serve as a consultant to Psychiatry trainees as well.

The psychologist participates in and contributes to multidisciplinary grand rounds, case conferences, and didactics with trainees and clinical staff. As a faculty member within Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine, the psychologist has a leadership position within the interdisciplinary Addiction Team and, if interested, will have the opportunity to work with department/division leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate programming for patients presenting with substance use disorders.

The psychologist conducts a faculty practice under the auspices of MSBHC’s Faculty Practice Associates.

The psychologist will use a lens of equity in all aspects of patient care delivery and education to promote policies and practices that allow equitable opportunities for trainees, faculty, and patients to thrive and reach their potentials.

Qualifications

Candidates for the position must have a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an American Psychological Association (A.P.A.) accredited graduate program and have completed an A.P.A. accredited internship. Candidates must be licensed as a psychologist in New York State. At least three years of post-licensure experience in providing evidence-based treatment for individuals with substance use disorders is required. Prior experience in clinical supervision and service provision within hospital-based settings is also necessary.

Compensation range from $125,000 - $175,000 and is based on number of years post-licensure and faculty rank (not including bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
