Job summary

Spero Health is seeking an Addiction Medicine Physician or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Lafayette, IN. The role requires the ability to prescribe buprenorphine and integrate medical and behavioral health care within our OBOT model to help patients with substance use disorders.

We provide medication-assisted treatment, counseling, and case management in a community-based setting so patients can continue working and caring for their families while overcoming addiction.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted medical license as a physician or nurse practitioner within the applicable state.
• Experience providing addiction medicine services for complex populations and substance use disorders.
• Current, active DEA licensure and prescriptive authority.
• Ability to work on-site with diverse care teams in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support for individuals with complex addiction and substance related health conditions.
• Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services.
• Provide education regarding illness and prognosis to clarify patient/family goals and support a comprehensive care plan.
• Interpret test results to diagnose health issues and provide feedback to patients.
• Educate and counsel patients regarding medication compliance.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to provide medical therapy plus behavioral health services.
• Patient follow-up visits regarding progress with medication and/or treatment.
• Contact patient's PCP or specialists when necessary.
• Evaluate lab results and consult with APPs regarding abnormal results.
• Review and adjust progress and treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain licensure, certifications and CME credits.

Spero Health is seeking an Addiction Medicine Physician or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Lafayette, IN!

This position is for an Addiction Medicine Physician or Nurse Practitioner with the ability to prescribe buprenorphine to join our team to fulfill its mission of "Saving Lives, Instilling Hope, and Restoring Relationships" to those suffering from substance use disorder. We provide local and affordable outpatient care primarily to those suffering from opioid addiction, and we operate as one of the largest Office Base Opioid Treatment (OBOT) providers in the country.

Spero Health utilizes an innovative evidenced-based integrated care model that combines both physical and behavioral healthcare services under one roof to treat the whole patient. We offer medication-assisted treatment along with counseling and case management within our facilities in order to bring the most comprehensive level of care to the patients that we serve while our community-based approach to treatment allows patients to continue working and caring for their families as they overcome addiction.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support for individuals with complex addiction and substance related health conditions.

• Reviews and oversees progress and treatment plans, including making any adjustments.
• Maintains required licensure, certifications and CME credits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active and unrestricted medical license as a physician or nurse practitioner within the applicable state.
• Experience providing addiction medicine services for both medically and socially complex populations; Experience managing complex substance use disorders.
• Ability to develop relationships with network and community physicians and other providers.
• Current, active DEA licensure and prescriptive authority in state(s) where applicable.
• Ability to work on-site with diverse care teams in a variety of settings.
• Effective time management and communication skills.
• Computer literate and experience with Electronic Medical Records.
