Spero Health, Inc. is seeking an Addiction Medicine Physician or Nurse Practitioner to join our team, with the ability to prescribe buprenorphine. We deliver medication-assisted treatment with counseling and case management in outpatient clinics, serving patients with opioid use disorder in a community-based model.

Our integrated care approach combines physical and behavioral health under one roof to support recovery, work, and family life while treating the whole patient.

Qualifications

Active and unrestricted medical license as a physician or nurse practitioner within the applicable state.
Experience providing addiction medicine services for medically and socially complex populations.
Current, active DEA licensure and prescriptive authority.
Ability to work on-site with diverse care teams in various settings.
Effective time management and clear communication with patients and teams.
Computer literate with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

Provide initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support for individuals with complex addiction and substance-related health conditions.
Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services.
Educate patients regarding illness, prognosis, and care plans to support goals of care.
Interpret test results and provide feedback to patients.
Educate and counsel patients on medication compliance.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide medical and behavioral health services.
Conduct patient follow-up visits regarding progress with medication and treatment.
Coordinate with PCPs and specialists when necessary.
Review lab results and advise APPs on abnormalities; oversee progress and treatment plans.
Maintain licensure, certifications, and CME credits.

Description

Spero Health is seeking an Addiction Medicine Physician or Nurse Practitioner to join our team!

This position is for an Addiction Medicine Physician or Nurse Practitioner with the ability to prescribe buprenorphine to join our team to fulfill its mission of "Saving Lives, Instilling Hope, and Restoring Relationships" to those suffering from substance use disorder. We provide local and affordable outpatient care primarily to those suffering from opioid addiction, and we operate as one of the largest Office Base Opioid Treatment (OBOT) providers in the country.

Spero Health utilizes an innovative evidenced-based integrated care model that combines both physical and behavioral healthcare services under one roof to treat the whole patient. We offer medication-assisted treatment along with counseling and case management within our facilities in order to bring the most comprehensive level of care to the patients that we serve while our community-based approach to treatment allows patients to continue working and caring for their families as they overcome addiction.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support for individuals with complex addiction and substance related health conditions.

Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services.

Provide education regarding illness and prognosis to assist with clarification of patient and family goals of care and support development of a comprehensive care plan.

Interpreting test results to diagnosis any health issues and provide feedback to patients.

Educating and counseling patients regarding medication compliance.

Work with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to administer the best care for those patients that need not only medical therapy but behavioral health services as well.

Patient follow-up visits regarding patients' progress with medication and/or treatment.

Contacts patient's PCP and/or specialist(s) when necessary.

Evaluates lab results and provides consultation with APPs regarding abnormal results.

Reviews and oversees progress and treatment plans, including making any adjustments.

Maintains required licensure, certifications and CME credits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Active and unrestricted medical license as a physician or nurse practitioner within the applicable state.

Experience providing addiction medicine services for both medically and socially complex populations; Experience managing complex substance use disorders.

Ability to develop relationships with network and community physicians and other providers.

Current, active DEA licensure and prescriptive authority in state(s) where applicable.

Ability to work on-site with diverse care teams in a variety of settings.

Effective time management and communication skills.

Computer literate and experience with Electronic Medical Records.
