Job summary

Alameda Health System in California is seeking an Addiction Medicine Physician to provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with substance use disorders. Services will be delivered on-site at Highland Hospital in Oakland.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required.
• Board eligibility or certification in Addiction Medicine is required or anticipated.
• Active California medical license and a valid DEA license are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope Addiction Medicine care in the Bridge Clinic and Bridge Consult service.
• Care for Bridge patients using a collaborative, team-based model of care.
• Attend Bridge Program meetings and other medical staff conferences, including continuing education.
• Plan and participate in in-service education programs for mid-level practitioners, nursing and staff.
• Serve as a professional role model for trainees and the health care team.
• Communicate effectively with referring physicians, patients and families regarding clinical status.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair or designee.
