Wisconsin Department of Corrections is seeking an Addiction Medicine APRN to provide direct SUD care, education, and consultation for incarcerated adults and adolescents. You will help develop broader SUD health programs, train staff, and work across disciplines to improve patient access to quality care.
On-site or virtual care may be provided based on patient needs. Travel between DOC facilities may be required; remote work is not available for this position.
This position is responsible for providing direct care to patients in our care with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), providing education, providing consultation, and participating in multi-disciplinary collaboration (e.g. psychiatry, pharmacy, security, etc.) in the WI Department of Corrections (DOC). The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced professional nurse who is responsible for the provision of comprehensive care to well and ill incarcerated adult and adolescent populations. This role will also assist in the development of a broader SUD-related health care program throughout the DOC, including training and consultation to staff in SUD-related healthcare.
While the primary focus of the role is the delivery of SUD treatment services, the Addiction Medicine APRN may also provide primary care services to the general population during periods of open schedule availability, as operational needs require, to support overall patient access to quality care. The Addiction Medicine APRN will also engage in collaborative relationship building with the Division of Community Corrections and community partners to facilitate pre-release support and continuity of care.
Patient care will be delivered on-site either in person or virtual and the appointment type will be determined by patient care needs. Travel to other DOC facility sites may be required, as needed.
This position is in pay schedule and range 11-11 with a starting pay rate of $60.00/hour - $72.87/hour
Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.
