Job description

Join to apply for the Addiction Counselor / Therapist role at Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health.

This Addiction Counselor/Therapist position is based at our Lutherville/Timonium, MD center. The role involves working with an innovative, interdisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. The position requires a solution-focused attitude and a commitment to learning and development.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Providing case management services to support positive treatment outcomes.
  2. Serving as a therapist in IOP and continued care groups, as well as individual therapy sessions.
  3. Organizing and delivering educational presentations related to behavioral health and recovery.
  4. Developing patient-centered treatment plans based on assessments.
  5. Collaborating with medical staff and treatment team members.
  6. Consulting with family members and referral sources for coordinated care.
  7. Maintaining accurate electronic health records and documentation that meet regulatory standards.
  8. Facilitating addiction treatment groups and providing recovery education.
  9. Engaging in case management activities, including assessments, discharge planning, and partnerships with referral sources.
  10. Providing direct care up to 55% of weekly hours, depending on program needs.
  11. Working with the team to address co-occurring psychiatric needs and coordinate support services.
  12. Ensuring timely, comprehensive, and compliant documentation.
  13. Demonstrating a commitment to excellent patient care, measured through clinical outcomes.
  14. Obtaining necessary signatures from supervisors and providing evaluations using DSM-TR and ASAM criteria.
  15. Participating in professional meetings and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

You need to have one of the following licenses or certifications:

  • CAC, CAC-AD, CSC, ADT, LGPC, LMSW, LCPC

And:

  • At least two years of supervised counseling experience.
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment and group therapy.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Strong crisis management and communication skills.
