MedMark Treatment Centers is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor for outpatient services. The role includes conducting individual and group counseling, coordinating patient care, and developing treatment plans in line with state regulations.

Applicants should have a relevant advanced degree, state certification as an addictions counselor, and strong documentation and EMR skills. The position emphasizes compassionate patient care and collaboration with the treatment team.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with clinical specialization), or a related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year of clinical experience (1,820 hours) in a drug/alcohol setting.
• Associate Degree with 2 years of clinical experience (3,640 hours) in a drug/alcohol setting.
• Full certification as an addictions counselor from a statewide certification body.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward our patient population.
• Understanding of an EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Counselor will conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care and present patient status to treatment team.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop/implement treatment plans per state regulations.
• Provide clinical services, education, and opiate addiction counseling.
• Maintain excellent documentation and computer skills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
