Job description

Luna Data Solutions has an immediate contract position opening (contract term approximately 3 to 6 months, with possible extension; this is a 3-year project) for an Azure Platform Engineering resource with our client in Austin, TX. *This is predominantly a remote position, however, some travel to Colorado is possible.

Role: Azure Platform Engineer

Role Description:

The client is seeking an experienced Azure Platform Engineer with strong networking expertise and deep knowledge of Azure Arc. In this role, this resource will help design, deploy, and manage cloud and hybrid environments that connect seamlessly across Azure, on-premises systems, and other clouds. This resource will work closely with client teams and stakeholders to implement scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms that enable data-driven innovation.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Azure platform services and solutions.
• 2+ years of strong, practical networking experience (IP routing, load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, etc.).
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing Azure Arc for servers, Kubernetes, and services across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Azure-native networking: VNETs, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Private Endpoints, Load Balancers, and ExpressRoute.
• Strong skills in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
• Familiarity with hybrid identity and access management (Azure AD Connect, role-based access control).
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles and compliance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate).
• Experience supporting hybrid data services (Arc-enabled Data Services, SQL MI, etc.).
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
