Set up, adjust, and operate various auxiliary binding machines, including those with multiple cutting heads, control surfaces, or attachments (e.g., inkjet and mailing devices, case making & decorating equipment, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines). Operate automatic bindery machines with multiple functions that process printed sheets into final products such as books, catalogs, manuals, directories, and magazines. Inspect equipment for safety issues. Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine. Direct the production crew, monitor quality, output, and productivity.
Possess working knowledge of equipment setup, adjustments, procedures, capabilities, and limitations for standard and specialized folding, collating, and cutting of printed materials. Be familiar with different paper weights, sizes, and conditions to make necessary machine adjustments. Use standard and specialized tools to maintain equipment functionality. Read and interpret work instructions to ensure dimensional accuracy and proper sequence of operations.
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Mechanical ability to operate and adjust the Add Roll Slitting Machine. Basic proficiency with hand tools. Strong mathematical skills, including operations with decimals, fractions, and units of measure. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance. Visual abilities include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Overtime may be required. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The pay range for this role is $17.50 - $23.50/hour, depending on education, skills, experience, and location. Compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, and other pay.
