Job summary

Ford Dearborn seeks an experienced engineer to lead core development for ADAS sensors, owning HW/SW requirements across vehicle programs. You will interface with suppliers and Ford teams to ensure robust designs and timely parts delivery.

The role covers design reviews, safety analyses, sourcing, and program support, with travel as needed. Hybrid onsite four days weekly; salary range $66,660–$170,000.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience packaging electronic modules and components in vehicles.
  • 3+ years of hardware design of E/E components.
  • 7+ years in automotive component or subsystem product development tools and processes.
  • Strong understanding of engineering disciplines (systems engineering, design validation, failure mode analysis, 8D, Six Sigma).
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead core design for ADAS components across vehicle programs.
  • Provide cost-efficient, quality parts on time with governance of robustness documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R, SCCAF).
  • Lead sourcing processes, including investment, piece price, tooling costs, and ESOW, specs.
  • Manage and execute software design reviews and releases for prototype, production, and service.
  • Lead and perform Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses.
  • Conduct Technical Design Reviews with Ford applications and suppliers.
  • Sign off on E/E information like WCCA, device transmittals, specifications, schematics.
  • Support vehicle operations to determine assembly/testing processes.
  • Interface with engineers, vehicle engineering, suppliers, and management for compliance.
  • Support BOM, integration/packaging, parts release, and engineering sign-off.
