Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an ADAS Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan. This hybrid role requires residence within commuting distance to the worksite.

You will lead the design and development of ADAS features, using MATLAB/Simulink to create robust algorithms and model-based design processes for MiL development. The role demands a Master’s degree and 2 years of ADAS experience, with capabilities in radar/camera/LIDAR integration, embedded software, and CANalyzer data analysis.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Automotive, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2 years of experience with radar, camera or LIDAR integration with ADAS features.
• 1 year of experience with embedded software development and MATLAB/Simulink; C++ and model-based design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
• Develop new control algorithms for feature function and interfaces using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Lead MiL development for Pre-Collision Assist and other ADAS features.
• Support feature specifications, FMEAs, robustness studies and DVP.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be able to do:

ADAS Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Lead the design and development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Develop new control algorithms for feature function and interfaces utilizing Matlab and Simulink. Lead model based design processes to ensure feature software meets robustness metrics. Support the integration of Pre-Collision Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, and other ADAS features in the ADAS ECU. Lead the overall Model-in-the-Loop (MiL) development for Pre-Collision Assist and other ADAS features. Conduct analysis of the feature function performance utilizing feature test inputs in Simulink MiL environment. Support the development of feature specifications, FMEAs, robustness disciplines and DVP.

Qualifications

You’ll have...

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Automotive Engineering Electric Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Utilizing radar, camera or LIDAR performance and integration with ADAS features. 2. Developing and conducting laboratory and vehicle tests of ADAS features. Data collection and analysis of ADAS sensing systems utilizing CANalyzer or similar data collection tools.3. Root cause feature and sensing issues using collected data. 4. Operating robotic test equipment used in collision avoidance validation to control host and target path trajectory. 5. Using in-vehicle ADAS feature calibration to meet vehicle program performance targets specific to collision avoidance regulatory protocol including NHTSA, IIHS, EuNCAP, or AEB MOU. 6. Performing end-to-end feature interface and overall diagnostic checks with vehicle CAN and OEM diagnostic tools and software. 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Experience with developing or testing software for embedded hardware. Develop feature function and control algorithms in Matlab and Simulink language. 2. Using Model Based Design processes to develop software component test vector coverage. 3. Running simulations on Matlab and Simulink code to develop signal coverage and validation of functional results. 4. Code writing with Matlab and C++. 5. Using CAPL.

We are offering a salary of$100,672.00 - $184,350.96/yr.
