Qualifications

  • Valid Personal Driver's License (NH DMV) required.
  • Direct experience in adapted sport programming 1-2 years preferred.
  • Experience with people with disabilities 0-1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with adaptive sport programs for all ages and abilities; create session plans.
  • Review participant intakes to determine equipment needs.
  • Prepare facilities and equipment; enforce safety rules.
  • Maintain records for program registrations and attendance.
  • Provide information and demonstrations to new staff and students.
  • Respond to questions and mentor students to meet performance expectations.

Job Summary

Will assist in facilitating sport and recreational programs and make adaptations to meet the capabilities and goals of each individual. Provide services to individuals who have physical and/or cognitive impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. Also involved in program development, marketing and outreach, and community education opportunities. Does this position require Patient Care? No

Essential Functions
  • Assists operationally and programmatically with adaptive sport and recreation programs for participants of all ages and functional abilities, including creating session plans, preparing equipment, maintaining attendance records, and communicating with participants, the regional coordinator, and other staff.
  • Reviews participant intakes to determine program/participant equipment needs.
  • Communicate with clients directly as needed for needed information.
  • Prepares, monitors, and maintains facilities and equipment for programs, including setup and clean up, ensuring facility and equipment are left in a clean and orderly fashion, enforcing rules and regulations to promote safe activity, and ensuring facility and equipment are secured and ready for use for future program needs.
  • Performs various administrative duties, including maintaining records related to program registration and attendance and communicating program/department information to participants and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform specific work tasks to new employees, volunteers, and students.
  • Responds to participants' questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
  • When appropriate, orients, trains, and mentors students to achieve stated performance expectations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required.

Licenses and Credentials
  • Personal Drivers License (New Hampshire) - New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles required.
Experience
  • Direct experience in adapted sport programming 1-2 years preferred.
  • Prior experience working with people with disabilities 0-1 year preferred.
