Job summary

Assabet Valley Collaborative seeks a Special Education Teacher for our REACH 1 classroom in central Massachusetts. The role focuses on functional academics, alignment to state standards, and hands-on learning with students who rely on communication devices and mobility supports.

Collaboration with a nurse, paras, and related services providers is essential. The ideal candidate will hold or be pursuing MA DESE licensure in Moderate or Severe Disabilities, bring school or nonprofit experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Licensed or working toward licensure from MA DESE in Moderate or Severe Disabilities.
• Experience working in schools, nonprofits, human service organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students who use communication devices and adaptive equipment.
• Deliver individual and small group instruction aligned to Massachusetts standards.
• Develop and implement IEPs with the team and related-service providers.
• Assess students for 3-year re-evaluations and contribute to progress reports.
• Supervise paraeducators and participate in required trainings.
