Job description

We are excited to announce that we are hiring Adaptive Skills Training (AST) Professionals for our North Bay Regional Center 605 program.

The ideal candidate will be a Master's-level clinician who thrives in a one-tier, primary professional lead model with high program ownership and low administrative layering. In this role, you will hold a small caseload (typically 3-4 clients), acting as both the clinical lead and direct service provider to deliver high-impact, community-based care.

We are seeking dedicated professionals passionate about supporting functional independence, daily living skills, communication, and social participation. Services emphasize dignified, PRT-informed instruction and active parent/caregiver coaching to help clients achieve meaningful progress toward independent living, day programs, or supported employment. Because services take place in natural home and community settings, this role operates primarily within a 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM window to best align with family schedules.

Duties:

  • Serve as the primary professional lead for assigned clients, maintaining full responsibility for assessment, programming, and service delivery
  • Conduct adaptive skills assessments (approximately 12-16 hours per client) using the ABAS assessment tool
  • Recommend authorized service hours (typically 4-10 hours per week) based on assessment results and functional need
  • Develop individualized adaptive skills programming aligned with the consumer's IPP and program goals
  • Deliver one-on-one adaptive skills instruction in natural environments (home and community)
  • Provide structured parent/caregiver coaching during sessions to support generalization and long-term independence
  • Monitor progress using assessment data, session observation, and caregiver input; adjust programming as needed
  • Document services, progress, and outcomes using agency-approved tools and formats
  • Participate in IPP meetings and communicate professionally with Regional Center service coordinators as needed
  • Promote dignity, autonomy, inclusion, and self-advocacy in all service activities
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, Speech-Language Pathology)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience providing direct services to consumers with developmental disabilities
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to translate assessment data into practical programming
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for families and Regional Center collaboration
  • Experience delivering community-based adaptive skills instruction
  • Familiarity with IPP-driven service models and Regional Center systems
  • Ability to manage a small caseload independently while maintaining consistency and quality
  • Reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and a valid driver's license
  • CPI/CPR certification preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required
