Job summary

ADAPT Community Network in the Bronx is seeking a full-time Adapted Physical Education teacher for our preschool program serving students with developmental disabilities. Work Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm, and support each student’s IEP goals.

You will design and implement individualized and group motor development and fitness plans, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and mentor staff while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education required; Master's preferred.
• New York State certification in Physical Education required.
• Ability to read, write, speak English; strong communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement instructional activities tailored to each student’s goals.
• Assess student physical abilities and motor skills.
• Prepare and deliver lesson plans for physical development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families.
• Maintain student confidentiality and adapt materials for accessibility.
