Job summary

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid teaching certificate with a Physical Education endorsement, along with the ability to travel to district buildings and meetings to support IEPs and behavioral plans. It is an exempt, 10.5-month position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
• Valid teaching certificate with endorsement in Physical Education.
• Ability to travel to school district buildings and professional meetings.
• Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories, testing, methods, etc.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments and diagnostic examinations to identify learning issues and recommend actions.
• Participates in developing Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
• Assists students and staff in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans.
• Coordinates with outside agencies and authorities as needed.
• Collaborates with administrators and teachers to assess student abilities and needs.
• Provides counseling and serves as liaison between home and school.
• Maintains professional knowledge and attends seminars or training.
• Maintains accurate student records and shares information with colleges/employers as required.
