Job summary

Candor is seeking an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support students with visual impairments by fostering independence and access to education. You will develop IEPs with ARD committees and deliver targeted adaptive PE services, focusing on motor skills, fitness, and participation in school activities.

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure inclusive opportunities and lifelong wellness for students, with a supportive environment and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field required.
• Master's degree in Adapted Physical Education or related field preferred.
• TEA Physical Education certification required; additional APE cert optional.
• Knowledge of IDEA and ARD processes; IEP experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs with ARD committees addressing physical needs.
• Deliver adaptive PE services for motor development and fitness.
• Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies for growth.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff, therapists, and families.
• Promote inclusive participation in PE classes and activities.
• Teach functional and lifelong wellness and safety in physical activities.
