Job summary

Innovations Academy, part of Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System in Streamwood, IL, is seeking a dynamic Special Education Teacher to join as a Physical Education Teacher (LBS1). You will provide physical fitness training and health programming to students with developmental and emotional disabilities, and you will implement IEP goals to help students reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications

• LBS1 Endorsement REQUIRED.
• 1-3 years experience in a therapeutic day school preferred.
• Ability to implement IEP goals and promote health/fitness programming.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical fitness training and health-related programming.
• Implement and monitor IEP goals for students with developmental and emotional disabilities.
• Organize school recreational events and promote programming to reach educational potential and self-esteem.
• Supervise paraprofessional aides as needed.
