Job summary

V2X is expanding its global network and security operations. The role focuses on deploying and maintaining a Zero Trust, AI-optimized network backbone supporting enterprise AI workloads and LLM traffic.

You will implement SASE, configure firewalls and virtual/physical devices, and automate with Ansible, Terraform, and Python to ensure secure, scalable connectivity across cloud environments. Strong security clearances are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on enterprise infrastructure, network engineering, and security operations.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust architecture, SASE platforms, and IAM.
• Hands-on with IaC (Ansible, Terraform) and Python scripting.
• Ability to travel and obtain security clearances.

Responsibilities

This role focuses on implementing, configuring, and maintaining a modern, self‑adapting, AI‑optimized network that serves as the transport backbone for the organization's enterprise AI Fabric. The engineer will be responsible for deploying Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) capabilities, enforcing a Zero Trust architecture, and configuring virtual and physical devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. As a hands‑on technical expert, this position ensures network security, performance, and scalability for AI workloads and standard enterprise traffic.

Key Responsibilities

• Zero Trust & SASE Implementation:
  • Implement and enforce Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) policies aligned to NIST 800-207 and CMMC compliance requirements.
  • Configure network segmentation, micro‑segmentation, and least‑privilege access across environments for users, devices, and AI agents.
  • Deploy and manage Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Secure Web Gateway (SWG), and Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS) within the SASE framework.
  • Manage ongoing performance tuning and policy management for all SASE technologies.
• AI Fabric Network Operations:
  • Maintain low‑latency, high‑throughput network paths optimized for AI model inference traffic, LLM API calls, and real‑time agent communication.
  • Implement AI‑aware Quality of Service (QoS) policies that prioritize AI workload traffic alongside standard enterprise traffic.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance using telemetry data to proactively identify and remediate bottlenecks.
• Core Networking & Automation:
  • Provide TierII/III support to end‑users and junior technicians for campus network and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, and Python‑based scripting to eliminate manual configuration.
  • Configure network hardware and software, including both physical and virtual infrastructure across cloud environments.
  • Deploy observability platforms to enable proactive incident detection and automated remediation workflows.
• Compliance & Governance:
  • Support network architectures and operations to maintain compliance with NIST 800-171 and CMMC Level2.
  • Manage secrets, credentials, and sensitive configuration data securely.
  • Execute tenant‑to‑tenant migrations, workload placement, and cross‑cloud connectivity.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained. (One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required)
• Experience:
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, network engineering, and security operations.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, remote support tools, and troubleshooting in a corporate IT environment.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust architecture, SASE platforms, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Hands‑on background with network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python) and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Other Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (Active Secret preferred).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CMMC Level2 certification.
  • Ability to travel to project and customer locations as needed.
• Skills and Technology Used:
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and network topology.
  • Proficiency with network management software (FMC, Panorama, FortiManager, Meraki) and monitoring software (SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, Science Logic).
  • Familiarity with SDWAN, Viptela, ION, and cross‑cloud integrations (Azure Network Security Group, Microsoft Entra).
  • Knowledge of machine identity management and ZTNA policy design for AI agents and automated systems.
  • Troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite, including SharePoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel.

The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation and may be modified at the discretion of the company.

USD $120,000 -190,000

Provided salary range minimum and maximum values correspond to variances between regional/geographic locations across the United States.
