Job summary

Baptist Health in Paducah, KY seeks a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in our outpatient clinic. You will obtain vital signs, document histories, and support providers to maintain smooth patient flow.

Key responsibilities include managing the EPIC electronic health record, scheduling appointments, processing medication requests, and coordinating tests. After competency, you may perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections on-site, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and patient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience with direct patient care in a clinical setting.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on patient experience.
• Clinical competency assessment upon hire; MA orientation mandatory.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience a plus.
• BLS from American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• BAT and DOT certifications required within 90 days for Occupational Medicine MA.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and reconcile medications.
• Collect patient history and document procedures.
• Support patient flow and coordinate with providers.
• Manage EPIC electronic health record and scheduling.
• Process medication requests and prior authorizations; coordinate tests.
• May perform EKGs, lab tests, injections or phlebotomy after competency.
