Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools seeks an Interrelated Teacher to provide face-to-face instruction at South Atlanta High School, supporting students with learning disabilities and related conditions through differentiated instruction.

The teacher will prepare lessons, use assessments to monitor progress, maintain classroom order, and collaborate with families and staff while meeting Georgia certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or relevant field
• Georgia PSC teaching certificate (Level 4 or higher) in Special Education General Curriculum P-12 or eligibility for provisional certificate with GACE Ethics entry assessment

Responsibilities

• Instruct students with learning disabilities or emotional/behavioral disorders through lectures, discussions, and visual aids
• Prepare lessons and outlines to cover the material.
• Administer various assessments to monitor student progress.
• Monitor students in classroom and at lunch to maintain order.
• Record grades and perform attendance-related duties.
• Coordinate parent/teacher conferences as needed to review performance and behavior.
• Attend faculty meetings and trainings and report to the school with face-to-face instruction.
• Ability to provide instruction to both in-person and remote learners when necessary.
