Job summary

East Central Ohio ESC seeks an Educational Facilitator to join our team in Guernsey County. The Facilitator will oversee students needing an alternative to traditional education in a residential facility, managing behavior and guiding students toward educational goals.

Under a lead teacher, the facilitator will implement pupil management procedures, monitor progress, and support safety. This role emphasizes positive learning environments, technology use, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
• Valid Ohio license appropriate for the assignment.
• Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a positive learning environment; helps students understand academic and behavioral objectives
• Under the direction of a lead teacher, implements effective pupil management procedures and upholds the student conduct code
• Provides guidance, communicates high expectations, and shows an active interest in student progress
• Facilitates critical-thinking, problem-solving and creativity skills
• Incorporates effective use of technology in program activities and upholds acceptable use policies
• Proctors standardized and alternative tests as directed; follows test security procedures
• Collaborates with staff to implement behavior improvement plans
• Takes precautions to ensure safety of all students and watches for problem situations
• Mantains accurate records and submits required reports in a timely manner
• Works with administration and/or support staff to address student concerns including excessive absence, risk behavior, physical/mental health, etc.
• Participates in conferences, staff meetings and professional growth opportunities as directed
