Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• A minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent.
• RI State Licensure is required.
• BSN or enrollment in a BSN program is required for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including examination and treatment under an approved protocol.
• Utilize the nursing process to implement goal-directed nursing care for a defined group of patients.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to Nursing Supervisor/Physician.
• Educate patients and families regarding condition, treatment, discharge planning and follow-up.
• Perform nursing skills in compliance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Communicate with physicians and other departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain patient records accurately and legibly.
• Provide clinical leadership for staff and participate in orientation of new personnel.
• Assume resource nurse responsibilities when necessary.
• Pursue professional development and set personal goals.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
