Job summary

Abilities First, Inc. seeks a patient, energetic Substitute Teacher Aide for its Hyde Park Education Center in Hyde Park, NY. You will support an interdisciplinary team, assist the teacher, and help implement classroom activities for school-age children across abilities.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–3:00 pm, 32.5 hours weekly for 48 weeks per year, and is an as-needed substitute with a pay range of $17.08–$19.08 per hour. Prior related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience within early childhood and Special Education (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Follows the classroom schedule ensuring that individual student’s goals are achieved.
• Assists in the classroom to conduct individual and group activities.
• Keeps student’s workstations/areas organized.
• Attends all specials with students (PE, art, music, etc.).
• Performs other appropriate job-related activities as requested by supervisor.
