Job summary

OPARC is seeking an Instructor for Culinary Arts in Montclair, CA. The role oversees design, implementation, and delivery of culinary programs across two kitchen environments: facility kitchen and Creative Arts instructional kitchen.

The position emphasizes adaptive teaching methods, curriculum development, mentorship, and operational leadership to promote participant independence, confidence, and employment readiness in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher culinary qualifications preferred.
• Experience providing instruction or vocational training to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• San Bernardino County Food Handler's Card and Food Manager Certification required.
• Ability to transport participants and staff in an OPARC vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement adaptable culinary arts curricula for varied skill levels and learning needs.
• Lead culinary classes, demonstrations, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences.
• Oversee both the facility kitchen and the Creative Arts instructional kitchen operations.
• Coordinate with Job Coach and supervise class schedules and production activities.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain proper documentation.
