Job description

As a Closing Manager On-Duty, you will be responsible for improving and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the grocery store. You will develop strategies to enhance customer service, store culture, drive sales, and increase profitability.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain a safe, happy, full, fresh, and clean store.
  2. Ensure sales floor, preparation, equipment, and storage areas are clean, orderly, and meet company and health department standards at all times.
  3. Build and maintain customer satisfaction with the products and services offered.
  4. Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to all team members.
  5. Coordinate with store management regarding inventory, sales, and store issues.
  6. Ensure products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability per department.
  7. Implement and execute the company's marketing plan to ensure product freshness and optimize sales while minimizing shrink.
  8. Participate in departmental and leadership meetings to align on store growth and development.
  9. Serve as a coach and mentor to team members, identifying and recommending those for higher responsibilities.
  10. Recommend and perform corrective actions for underperforming teammates when management is not present.
  11. Monitor inventory levels and order products to maintain a diverse and stocked selection.
  12. Implement best practices to minimize profit losses and maximize overall store profit.
  13. Promote a fun and rewarding store culture to reduce turnover and achieve financial goals.
  14. Lead the team and store proactively in the absence of management to meet financial targets.
  15. Adhere to all safety standards set by the company.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
  17. Work effectively in temperature-controlled environments.
Schedule:
  • Second shift, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm.
Experience:
  • Preferred: 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Preferred: 5 years of grocery or equivalent experience.
  • ServeSafe certification or similar.
Skills:
  • Physical abilities: Ability to lift up to 85 lbs., stand, bend, lift, and twist for up to 90% of shift; work in temperature-controlled environments; walk on various flooring types.
  • Strong communication skills: Effectively communicate with peers and leaders daily.
  • Organizational skills: Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and fulfill customer orders promptly.
  • Teamwork: Work independently and collaboratively to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Quality: Maintain high standards of product handling and integrity.
  • Safety culture: Uphold safety policies and promote accountability for safe practices throughout the shift.
