Job description

The Ad Operations Specialist, Level 2 will join a team responsible for Farm Journal digital campaigns from conception to completion. Operational tasks include order entry, creative trafficking, ad tag troubleshooting, optimization and reporting of onsite and offsite digital tactics such as display, mobile app, mobile messaging, newsletters, and email marketing campaigns.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has a quick-thinking analytical mind. The candidate is someone with hands-on experience building/planning audiences with programmatic platforms. The candidate must be able to adapt to various digital platforms, manage a sizable amount of inbound communication with speed and precision, and demonstrate a proven track record of satisfying the customer. Familiar with all digital media tactics and channels, including display, audio, native, CTV and video. Must have the ability to strategically integrate digital tactics based on performance or awareness objectives to drive optimal results.

In addition, the Ad Operations Specialist, Level 2 will contribute to overall Farm Journal digital thought leadership and an industry leading digital operations team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work collaboratively in a matrixed structure to execute and deliver on all digital campaigns.
  • Oversee the execution, management, and optimization of programmatic media plans across multiple DSPs, including but not limited to The TradeDesk and StackAdapt.
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues based on in-depth knowledge of programmatic and ad-serving platforms.
  • Lead and mentor the digital team on managed tasks and projects while upholding campaign performance and client satisfaction.
  • Execute and optimize digital campaigns.
  • Maintain current knowledge and expert understanding of DSP platforms, leveraging this expertise to support and educate both clients and internal teams.
  • Analyze and maximize ROI.
  • Support ongoing projects, monitor vendor trends and benchmarks.

Required:

  • BS/BA degree in a related area (marketing, data analytics, business administration).
  • 3+ years direct experience in programmatic campaign management.
  • Proven aptitude for growth and capacity to learn.
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Advanced expertise in the digital and programmatic ecosystem.
  • In-platform experience across major programmatic platforms.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Problem solver, not a problem alerter.
  • Prior work with digital/programmatic campaigns and platforms (The TradeDesk, StackAdapt Social).
  • Experience with audience building (Liveramp).
  • Knowledge of third-party ad servers.
  • Microsoft Excel skills: Pivot tables, vlookups and other functions.
  • Advanced understanding of pixels, tag placement and campaign measurements such as impressions, reach and CTR.

Work authorization requirements
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
