Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking an Acute Rehab Occupational Therapist to join our team. You will evaluate patients, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands-on, evidence-based therapy to improve independence and quality of life.

Collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team is essential to deliver comprehensive care. You will monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and document outcomes while educating patients and families for engaged recovery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
  • OT license/registration required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team
  • Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care
  • Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes
  • Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences
  • Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare, is a 350‑bed hospital that provides a wide range of medical services. It is known for its 24/7 emergency care, Level II Trauma Center, Burn Center, advanced heart care, and Baby-Friendly maternity services.
