Job summary

Peak View Behavioral Health in Colorado Springs is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care on an acute psychiatric unit. You will supervise LPNs and CNAs, develop and implement patient care plans, and ensure accurate documentation and patient safety.

Responsibilities include medication administration with two identifiers, timely communication of status changes to the treatment team, and participation in unit activities and hand-offs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years of nursing experience in the facility's clinical area preferred.
• Behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards and practice in an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates nursing care for patients, supervising LPNs, CNAs and other staff.
• Develops and implements patient care plans; assesses and reassesses patients.
• Administers medications using two identifiers and documents accordingly.
• Communicates changes in patient status to providers and interdisciplinary team.
• Documents thoroughly and participates in unit activities and hand-offs.
