Job summary

EastPointe Hospital in Daphne, Alabama is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support admission processes, medication administration, and crisis de-escalation within a psychiatric hospital setting. The role requires documentation accuracy, teamwork, and compassionate patient care on a 24-hour unit.

The LPN will work with physicians and the treatment team to ensure timely assessments, safety, and adherence to policy while maintaining patient dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current LPN license for Alabama.
• Experience administering medications and observing patient responses.
• Ability to recognize and de-escalate crisis situations.
• Strong documentation and communication with team and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Complete admission process including Medical Checklist, Vital signs, and Nursing notes.
• Observe patient behavior in group activities and document observations.
• Administer medications following the Six Rights of medication administration.
• Provide medication education for the patient and family.
• Communicate effectively with the physician regarding the patient’s physical and mental condition.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and update the treatment plan.
• Perform shift-change hand-offs and ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
