Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa is seeking an Acute Occupational Therapist to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will evaluate patients, develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve daily living activities and mobility while collaborating with physicians, nurses, therapists, and case managers to optimize outcomes.

The role emphasizes education, discharge planning, and safety at home.

Qualifications

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
OT (Occupational Therapy) required.
OT Eligible to obtain license.
Bachelor's Occupational Therapy degree required.
Preferred 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional abilities and limitations.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADLs, mobility, and safety.
Provide therapeutic interventions including neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and adaptive equipment training.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and case managers.
Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve independence and safety at home.
Participate in discharge planning and recommend appropriate follow-up services.
