Overview

The Acute Mental Health Provider provides acute mental health screening, referral, and case management services to children and adolescents within the Emergency Department.

This is a 36-hour per week Full-Time role, scheduled on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday Evening Shift from 2:00pm - 2:30am. This shift includes a great Shift Differential!

Location: Our Overland Park, KS campus.

Responsibilities

  • Rapid acute mental health screening, referral, and documentation. Respond to the Emergency Department within prescribed time frame and complete acute mental health screening of patients who have been identified to be at risk of harm to themselves or othe
  • Collaboration with Service Providers. Maintain ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong partnerships with mental health service providers.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Social Work or Counseling and 3-5 years experience 1 year experience acceptable if incumbent holds a clinical license.
  • One of the following: Licensed Master's Social Worker KS, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Specialist KS, KS Licensed Professional Counselor, KS Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed Master's Social Worker MO, Licensed Clinical Social Worker MO, MO Licensed Professional Counselor required upon hire
  • Employees must obtain MO Licensed Professional Counselor or equivalent within 90 days
  • Employees must obtain Licensed Clinical Social Worker MO or equivalent within 90 days
  • Employees must obtain Licensed Master's Social Worker KS or equivalent within 90 days
  • Employees must obtain Licensed Master's Social Worker MO or equivalent within 90 days
  • LMSW KS Licensed Master's Social Worker KS Must have a social work license (LMSW/LCSW/LSCSW) or professional counseling license (LPC/LCPC) in the state of primary work location upon hire and then be dually licensed in both states within 90 days of employm

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $29.66/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
