Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis County is seeking a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who has completed at least one semester of fundamental clinicals.

This frontline role supports the nursing team on a 12-hour shift schedule and includes daytime hours. The position involves assisting with patient care under supervision, preparing patients for tests, documenting care with proper terminology, and participating in safety and education activities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited RN program with at least one clinical semester completed.
• Assists nurse under supervision; safety sitter 1:1 as necessary.
• Ensures supplies are available and equipment is ready.

Role Purpose

Provides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
