Job summary

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant in Acute Medicine to join the Acute Medical Unit at The Royal Oldham Hospital as part of the Northern Care Alliance.

The role focuses on safe, efficient patient care, leading on acute service improvements, and working with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, pharmacy and therapy staff. It includes managing acutely ill patients, initiating plans and performing procedures, with some A&E in-reach.

Qualifications

• Must have CCT or completed date within 6 months, or working towards it with CESR.

Responsibilities

• Take part in the daily assessment of acute patients admitted to the AMU and initiate management plans.
• Perform procedures as part of acute patient care.
• Lead on rounds and MDT meetings to coordinate care.
• Assist in the management of patients requiring non-invasive ventilation and CPAP.
• Be part of a multidisciplinary team including nursing, pharmacy and therapy staff.
