Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Austell, GA is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join the dialysis care team. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and perform hemodialysis procedures according to the prescribed treatment plan.

Qualifications

• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Six months of hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of CPR Certification.
• Ishihara Color Blindness test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse for assigned patient(s) in the acute setting and administers dialysis per treatment plan.
• Maintains a safe, clean dialysis environment and supports quality improvement activities.
• Documents all treatment information accurately in EMS and ACES.
• Evaluates vascular access patency, records vitals, and reports issues to the Hemodialysis RN.
• Sets up and primes equipment as directed and responds to emergencies including CPR when needed.
• Participates in staff meetings and training and supports ongoing education.
