Job summary

Avera McKennan’s Behavioral Health Center in Sioux Falls is seeking a PRN Behavioral Health Technician for the Acute Unit. You will provide one-on-one or small-group support under a Registered Nurse, helping with daily living activities and safety while contributing to a compassionate, team-based care plan.

The role involves participating in an interdisciplinary team, monitoring patient conditions, and documenting in the EMR. Rotating shifts support diverse patient needs and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related human services field or Associate's Behavioral Health.
• 1-3 years related experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a rotating PRN schedule and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical and psychological care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assesses changes in patient condition and notifies RN.
• Maintains accurate records in the patient’s EMR.
• Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning and group activities.
• Assists with activities of daily living and safety precautions.
