Job summary

Renown Health in Reno, NV, is seeking an Acute Float Pool RN to provide high‑quality patient care across units during night shifts. The role requires nursing knowledge, critical thinking, and the ability to float to multiple acute care hospitals within Renown Health as competencies allow.

Preferred candidates will have at least one year of acute care experience, a Nevada RN license, BLS, and ACLS within six months of hire. Excellent teamwork and patient safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of acute care experience preferred.
• State of Nevada RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification within six months of hire.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across neonatal to geriatric patients through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Float to Renown Health Acute Care hospitals in the units where competencies are demonstrated and coordinate care with other professionals.

The RN is accountable for individualized patient care and outcomes over an entire episode of care. This position may be utilized as a resource RN the Acute Services Division, including Renown Regional Medical Center, Renown South Meadows, and Renown Rehabilitation in the units where competencies are assessed and demonstrated.## Nature and ScopeThis position must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.This position must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department special populations competency standards.When possible, the family or those significant to the family are considered as part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts of this position. The Acute Care Float RN coordinates care between other professionals.Evidence based nursing practice, along with critical thinking skills are required to provide optimally safe patient care when interacting with internal and external contacts and exercising judgment and making decisions.
