Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Surgical House Officer in Massachusetts. The role supports Attending Surgeon, performs invasive procedures under protocols, and conducts surgical consultations.
Qualifications include MA-licensed Physician Assistant, NP, or Physician; inpatient consults, triage, Surgical Critical Care; procedural competencies including ultrasound-guided venous access; and training in ATLS.

Coverage Times: weekend days, weekend nights, weekday nights and any holiday which are all times for which BIDP makes available the SHO program for all subspecialties to use. Shift starts promptly at 7am and 7pm and ends accordingly. Face to Face sign out is mandatory without exception.
Adheres to the established Responsibility and Priority Hierarchy for treatment and triage of surgical patients (see Supplement 1). Collaborates closely with the Attending Surgeon and surgical team to identify, assign, and assess patient care needs.
Provides assistance with:
When workload or acuity exceeds capacity, responsibilities defer back to the Responsibility and Priority Hierarchy and Attending Surgeon.
Maintains ultimate responsibility for identifying and triaging assigned patients.
Performs major invasive procedures under specific written protocols developed collaboratively by: Chief Medical Officer Medical Director of Surgery Chief of Surgery Administrative Program Leadership PA/MD (see Supplement 2)

The Surgical House Officer may be a Massachusetts-licensed: Physician Assistant (PA) Nurse Practitioner (NP) Physician Must meet minimum organizational procedural and clinical competency requirements, including but not limited to:
Pay Range: $130.00 - $150.00
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance to the law.
