The Department of Surgery, Division of Acute Care Surgical Services at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, seeks an Acute Care Surgeon to join our faculty. The role spans Trauma Surgery, Emergency General Surgery, Elective General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care across VCU Medical Center and Community Memorial Hospital.

The successful candidate will contribute to clinical care, teaching of students and residents, and scholarly activity while participating in quality improvement

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• Board Certified in General Surgery.
• Eligibility for Virginia medical licensure.
• Experience teaching residents and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in acute care surgery.
• Engage in clinical research, quality improvement, and scholarly projects.
• Provide trauma and acute care surgery care at VCU and CMH; participate in teams.
• Contribute to departmental and university service and committees.
