Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare, an integrated system including HCMC, seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to join the acute care team in downtown Minneapolis. This full-time role offers Monday–Friday hours with weekend rotations based on department needs, serving patients across ages from neonates to geriatric.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating communication and swallowing disorders, utilizing instrumental assessments after training, and documenting outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate in speech-language pathology or communication disorders.
  • CCC- ASHA certification.
  • Minnesota license in Speech Language Pathology.
  • CPR for Healthcare Professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Use instrumentation (MBSS/FEES/Videostrobe) after competency training.
  • Plan and administer a speech-language, cognitive and/or swallowing plan of care.
  • Document progress with daily notes and care plan summaries.
  • Educate patients and families within SLP scope.
  • Coordinate with providers and care teams for high-quality patient care.
  • Mentor graduate students and Clinical Fellows.
  • Participate in LEAN process improvements in patient care.
