Job summary

Stormont Vail Health seeks a full-time Critical Care nurse to provide direct patient care in a high-acuity setting. Night shift, 12-hour rotations, and 36 hours per week are required, with non-exempt status and local Kansas licensure.

Responsibilities include data collection, collaborative care planning, and evidence-based nursing interventions with a commitment to patient dignity and safety. BLS and department-specific trainings may be required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Registered Nurse licensed in Kansas (KSBN) or multistate license accepted.
  • Basic Life Support certification required or to be obtained within 90 days; other RN-specific trainings may be required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Collects data and analyzes patient information to identify problems.
  • Develops collaborative care plans to achieve outcomes.
  • Implements care plans with coordination of interprofessional team.
  • Evaluates progress and adjusts interventions as needed.
  • Delivers nursing care guided by caring theory and ethics; mentors colleagues.

Nurses in the critical care setting provide direct care for patients who require complex assessments and interventions.
