Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas is opening a 56-bed Medical/Surgical unit on the 8th floor of the Main Hospital Building. This RN position supports patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment with 20 double rooms and 16 private rooms.

The RN uses the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care, delegating as appropriate under the Texas Nursing Practice Act. Relocation assistance is available; the unit emphasizes teamwork, professional growth, and high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Prefer specialty certification at hire or within one year of placement in job classification.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a patient advocate and maintains positive working relationships with Parkland staff and external customers.
• Maintains knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines impacting nursing practice.
• Performs patient assessments, identifies interventions, and documents in patient care records.
• Seeks direction from experienced staff and may guide non-nursing staff as needed.
• Identifies ways to improve work processes and patient satisfaction and reports results to supervisor.
• Stays current with developments in nursing practice and maintains Texas RN licensure.
