Job summary

Centerpoint Health – Winchester is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for full-time night shift Friday to Sunday, 7p–7:30a. You will examine and treat patients with breathing conditions, collaborate with physicians to develop care plans, and educate patients on therapies and device use.

Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy is required, along with a current Kentucky RRT license and BCLS certification. ACLS, PALS, and NRP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy is required.
• Current RRT license in Kentucky.
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examines and treats patients with breathing-related conditions and collaborates with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provides patient education on therapies and medication use; performs physiotherapy and related treatments.
• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood gases; may perform bedside PFTs and EKGs.
• Delivers ordered respiratory therapies; monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and response to treatment.
• Responds to codes and emergent calls; assesses patient condition and provides appropriate interventions.
• Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
• Educates patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources.
• Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas and equipment readiness.
• Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment.
• Performs all responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
