Job summary

DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital in Detroit, MI seeks a part-time Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiology exams using standard imaging equipment under general supervision.

You will verify patient identity, obtain medical history, explain procedures, operate equipment, review images with radiologists, and participate in quality improvement and education for staff and students.

Qualifications

• ARRT radiography certification is required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) training must be obtained by end of orientation.
• Ability to operate radiography equipment and follow physician requests.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and staff collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic radiological exams utilizing imaging equipment.
• Verifies patient identity and reviews medical records for exam appropriateness.
• Interviews patient to obtain history and assess risk factors.
• Explains procedures, risks, benefits, and alternatives to patients.
• Sets up equipment and acquires images per scripts.
• Reviews images and communicates findings to radiologist.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and patient education.
• Available for on-call/standby as required.
